The HEATWISE Meetup in Budapest was a hub of innovation and collaboration!
On 12 September 2024, data centre professionals, IT specialists, engineers, researchers, building managers, and industry experts came together at our sister project’s event to explore new opportunities in waste heat integration and energy efficiency.

- H1 Systems LLC introduced the ambitious HEATWISE project, emphasising its goals to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings and data centres.
- BUILD – Department of the Built Environment showcased the untapped potential of waste heat in buildings, revealing promising opportunities for energy reuse.
- RISE Research Institutes of Sweden shared insights into their ColonyOS system and new measures inspired by the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.
- D&S Tech unveiled advanced thermal modelling techniques and CFD simulation results, which are crucial for optimising data centre operations.
- ZutaCore set new benchmarks with their two-phase liquid cooling solution for sustainable cooling.
The event also featured an engaging panel discussion on waste heat potential, sparking ideas for future collaborations.
Amid this dynamic atmosphere, the THUNDER project made a strong impression in the showcase area, highlighting innovative solutions for harnessing waste heat from data centres ♻ and advancing thermal seasonal storage technologies.
